The Site
This is an attempt to record/restore all the available information about Phil WIlliams’ Gazuki range, both from the original site via web.archive.org, and various online postings in places such as TheSession.org, WorthPoint, Harmony Central etc.
Production of the Gazuki began in mid-2009, and the site effectively closed in March 2016, when Phil posted to the homepage “My thanks to all my customers, the Gazuki project is over.” The site itself seems to have lasted until (I assume) the registration lapsed sometime before December 2021, when some cybersquatters picked it up (until fairly recently).

The Author
Mike Whitaker is something of a multi-instrumentalist – formerly Lindsey Buckingham in tribute band Fleetfoot Mike, and bassist in modern country covers band Americana. He owns too many acoustics (a lot of which are well-set up made-in-China or further afield) and slightly fewer electrics (his wife will concur on the “too many”). He also does a bunch of solo/band acoustic folk/rock/filk (look it up!) stuff, enjoys messing in alternate tunings and odd numbers of strings. His friends complain that when they pick up an instrument off the stands in the music room they never know if they’ll be able to play it without rewiring their brain (“No, that’s fine… oh, wait, sorry, no, it’s in open Cm”…)
He has no connection to Phil other than being an early and happy customer, owning a Gazuki mk 1 since early 2010.
